The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited Kareli region

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited Kareli region and tasked the Governor of the region to restore the irrigation canal. Mikheil Saakashvili visited Gomi factory and met 200 people working there.

"We must build several apple processing factories, which is part of "one hundred enterprises" program and starting with infant food, we have to produce everything locally. I personally spoke with the investors from Switzerland and some other countries and it is quite possible to do it. It must be noted, that Georgian apple is wonderful for diet products. This is part of our 50-day preparation program of overcoming poverty", stated the President of Georgia.

On his way Mikheil Saakashvili visited the place, where the rehabilitation of the irrigation canal is going on. For years running the population of Kareli region villages have had a problem of water supplying, and it was decided to solve this problem within the frames of the 50-day program. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke to the local population and got interested in their problems.

"Part of our program was "natural gas to every village", "running water to every village", "a doctor to every village", also construction of the schools and roads. Your village shouldn't be an exception, and as I see one third of the promise has already been fulfilled", noted the President talking to them.

"Patriots" help local population in the rehabilitation of the irrigation canal. The heads of administrations and the Governor were given additional tasks from the President.
