Mikheil Saakashvili spoke about the projects of developing Batumi
The President of Georgia toured the lake Michigan shore and enjoyed a bicycle ride at one of the longest boulevards in the world. Mikheil Saakashvili familiarized himself with the infrastructure of the coastal line and noted that the Batumi Boulevard, which is going to be lengthened up to 23 kilometers in two years, will be organized in the same way. According to him, soon the coastal line of the Black Sea resort city, Batumi will be accommodated just like the Chicago Boulevard. The Head of State also noted that next year Batumi will be distinguished by the most beautiful beach.
“It is well known that we are trying to share something new from every place. We can do some of the things better than others and some of the things others can do better than us…Chicago has a very interesting and the world’s longest boulevard. I consider the Batumi boulevard number two. If you look closely this place looks a lot like Batumi as it also has skyscrapers and a large lake. Everything you see here is done artificially - the dock system and the gold sand beach in front of the skyscrapers. We are creating a beach exactly like this in Batumi, at a place where the hotels were built and the technological university will soon be finished. This process will begin in summer and we will need exactly 9 months to implement it. We are also building a dock system, we will build a fence and by next summer we will have a much more beautiful boulevard, which will be the calling card of the Black Sea region. This place reminds me of Batumi so much that it’s a source of inspiration for me” – stated the Head of State.
