Mikheil Saakashvili visited Gardabani

The President of Georgia visited Gardabani today. Mikheil Saakashvili met with the person, who gave him a letter during the opening of the local hospital recently. The President personally replied to the request of the local resident and visited the specific neighborhood, where the person asked him to take care of the roads and lighting.

The President also met with the residents of the neighborhood, promised to take care of the accumulated problems, and congratulated them on the brilliant holiday of Christmas. Mikheil Saakashvili recalled the letter, which he received from the resident of this neighborhood- Bela Khositashvili several days ago asking him to improve the living conditions of this neighborhood.

Mikheil Saakashvili read the letter of Bela Khositashvili in front of the representatives of the media. According to the President, travelling to the regions and opening new facilities is an excellent opportunity for him, as the President of Georgia, to communicate with citizens directly.

“I don’t want madam Bela or someone else to think that I open hospitals because I want to score points. This is an opportunity to communicate with you and understand what needs to be done. I assure you that 99% of what is happening in Georgia is happening without my direct involvement. People learned how to work of their own free will. I get involved where I can. I know that you have many other problems, but this hospital was also built for people. No matter who says what, lots of people are getting medical care in this hospital and they have not arrived from somewhere else. Many of them already have insurance policies and many more will soon receive it. Those who do not have policies will have a chance to benefit from low cost insurance. Of course, there are still many problems in Georgia. We don’t have lighting everywhere, but I agree with you that first of all, the Tbilsresi neighborhood must have lighting. We will reach every part of Gardabani and do everything possible. Not all the problems can be fixed simultaneously. We just had a chance to come back to Gardabani after two days. The day before yesterday I read your letter in the car, on the way back. After that, I flew to different parts of Georgia and came back to you as soon as I had a chance” - stated the President of Georgia.

Bela Khositashvili thanked Mikheil Saakashvili for the attention and wished him success in the future. In his turn, the Head of State promised the Gardabani residents to take care of the roads along with the lighting problem soon. The President, in a symbolic gesture, began the works to rehabilitate the roads personally.
