On January 29, late in the evening, a telephone conversation took place between the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili and the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. President Saakashvili and Secretary Rice focused on Georgia's energy security issues. 
According to Secretary Rice the US State Department was paying special attention to energy crisis in Georgia and the ministry of foreign affairs was having everyday contact with Russia. 

Secretary Rise said that the US is ready to provide assistance and support to Georgia in ensuring its energy security.
