Mikheil Saakashvili met with the Executive Director of the Millennium Challenge Corporation - Daniel Yohannes during his visit to New York. The discussion focused on the projects implemented by the corporation in Georgia as well as future financial contributions.

Several projects have already been successfully implemented with the funds allocated by the Millennium Challenge Program. The corporation is working with the Government of Georgia on the new financial contributions which will be allocated in 2012. The formal procedure of intensive talks between the Georgian side and the Millennium Challenge Corporation is very close to being completed. The funds allocated by the corporation will be used to build the new Batumi Technological University and to implement infrastructural projects.

Mikheil Saakashvili will also attend the Investment Forum, which will be attended by representatives of the largest corporations of America, discussing the prospects of new investments in Georgia.

Mikheil Saakashvili will also meet with the President of Latvia - Andris Barzins today and will later attend the reception in the name of the Prime Minister of Turkey - Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
