Mikheil Saakashvili opened the Georgian-Armenian Business Forum with the President of the Republic of Armenia – Serzh Sargsyan. During his speech, Mikheil Saakashvili spoke about the economic indicators of the country and noted that Georgia is among the world leaders in terms of simplicity of doing business. According to him, it is important for the regional economy to be integrated for the development of the Caucasus. Mikheil Saakashvili also mentioned the successfully implemented reforms of the last 8 years.

“You are aware that we started to rebuild the ruined economy. I think the situation is radically different today. Georgia is the most favorable place in terms of business climate. We are the number one reformer country in the world. Businesses can be registered in Georgia faster than anywhere else. At the same time, according to the data of international organizations we are in first place in terms of fighting corruption” – stated Mikheil Saakashvili and added that “if the world economy does not collapse, Georgia will have important economic growth next year”

Serzh Sargsyan also spoke about the recent successes and achievements of Georgia and praised Georgian companies for investing in Armenia.

“Investors from various countries are investing in Armenia and I would also like to thank the Georgians for that. They can contact me or my administration in case they have any problems. We are a small country and we have been unable to establish full order yet” – noted the President of Armenia.
