The President of Georgia hosted the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden
The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili hosted the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Carl Bildt. Carl Bildt came to Georgia on two-day working visit. During the meeting sides discussed the priorities of cooperation between EU and Georgia. They have also discussed issues of the development of "association agreement", the future perspectives of "Eastern Partnership" and the issue on timely starting negotiations on "deep and overwhelming free trade agreement".
Carl Bildt noted that he supports the process of Georgia's Euro-Atlantic integration and once again reiterated his support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia. The sides discussed the issues of existing situation on the occupied territories and spoke about security issues on these territories. The special attention was driven on regional security and bilateral cooperation issues. Mikheil Saakashvili thanked Swedish side for the active support they express towards Georgia's territorial integrity and Euro-integration process, for the participation in EU mission and for the support in the cooperation of international development.
