The President of Georgia visited IDPs in village Shaumiani
The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited IDPs in Marneuli region, village Shaumiani. From Patara Liakhvi gorge he went to Shoshitaishvili's family, where he proposed a toast of united Georgia. The President spoke with the local population and visited a kindergarten that was specially built for the IDP children.
Mikheil Saakashvili got familiar with EU social-economic program in village Shaumiani. This program envisages the social and economic rehabilitation of the population. The IDPs and the local population as well study foreign languages, computer and the preparation of social projects for free in this center.
"The IDPs are special because they have more chances in their lives to reach success. It is difficult to change one living condition to another, but on the other hand motivation is rather high and a person, who lost everything has more endurance and motivation. This is why we have to support them and teach them foreign languages, computers, writing programs", Mikheil Saakashvili stated.
