The President of Georgia on his official visit to Poland expressed his sorrow on the great Georgian Artist and public figure Sophiko Chiaureli's death.

„Sophiko Chiaureli was not only the brilliant artist, but the representative of great Georgian family, very important public figure and simply a very good person. I would like to express my condolences to her family and friends. I would like to underline, that this is a huge loss for Georgian culture, for Georgian society and for whole Georgia in General. I created a State Committee and asked Nino Burjanadze to chair it. This committee will provide the organization of the bureal ceremony of Sophiko Chiaureli. We must give the highest evaluation to the contribution she made to Georgian culture.
