The President of Georgia meets world leaders
The President of Georgia met with Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Kevin Rudd. They discussed bilateral relations and future cooperation issues. It was decided during the meeting that in 2012 a Georgian Embassy would open in Australia. Kevin Rudd officially invited Mikheil Saakashvili to Australia. With the aim of deepening cooperation Australian side also expressed wish of visiting Georgia. Austrian delegation will pay official visit to Georgia on the highest level.
Within the frames of Munich Security Conference Mikheil Saakashvili also met the President of Switzerland Michelin Calmy-Rey. Besides bilateral relations, sides discussed problematic issues existing in Georgia-Russian relations. One of the major topics of the meeting was making the role of Switzerlad as of a mediator country between Russia and Georgia more active.
