The President of Georgia visited Ozurgeti
The President of Georgia visited Ozurgeti today, where he opened a Public Service Hall. Mikheil Saakashvili stopped at the Children’s Corner and later familiarized himself with the services and projects which the local people are going to receive based on the one window principle. The new Public Service Hall’s modern glass building was designed by Georgian architects and it was built in 5 months.
The Head of State met with the local residents gathered around the Public Service Hall and addressed them while focusing on the projects planned around the Guria region. Mikheil Saakashvili also drew attention to the issue of employment and noted that the refreshed Ozurgeti Profession College “Horizon” will work in exactly this direction.
Mikheil Saakashvili visited the newly-opened hospital of Ozurgeti later today, which became functional in December of last year. He expressed interest in the hospital’s working conditions and visited several patients and newborns.
The President of Georgia also familiarized himself with the ongoing works in the center of Ozurgeti. The full rehabilitation of the central part of the town is already going on. The “Theatrical Square” will be fully renovated along with the small park nearby as well as facades of buildings, and a café at the “Plane Tree Garden.” Reconstruction of the Ozurgeti Railway Station and other works on site are also going on. The full rehabilitation of the central part of Ozurgeti will end in the fall and the rehabilitation of resorts “Bakhmaro” and “Ureki” will begin soon.
