The President of Georgia visited the family an Olympic champion in Karaleti today. Mikheil Saakashvili congratulated the parents of Lasha Shavdatuashvili on the victory of their son. The Head of State also spoke to the Olympic champion, who is currently in London, over the phone.

“Lasha is truly a great boy; honest, hard working and fighting…he put people in a really good mood. I listened to your interview saying that he was working out even when we were being bombed. This is the real ability to fight. The most important thing for him now is not to think that he has achieved too much. He must continue practicing” – stated Mikheil Saakashvili while talking to them.

The parents of Lasha Shavdatuashvili thanked Mikheil Saakashvili for the support the State has been giving their son.
