The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili attended Easter Ceremony at Sameba Cathedral. Mikheil Saakashvili went to Sameba together with his children and the government representatives. The President visited the Patriarchy, where he listened to the hymn "Ave Maria" written by the Patriarch of Georgia. The President believes that this unique composition must spread all over the country.

"I wish to congratulate everyone with Bright Easter Holiday - this day represents the victory of kindness over the evil, the celebration when light defeats darkness. Before I came here, at Patriarchy, together with the Patriarch I listened to "Ave Maria" recently written by our Patriarch. Till today I only knew the hymn "Ave Maria" written by Catholics and it is very important that this composition was created in the Georgian church as well. It impressed me greatly and I offered his Holiness to perform this composition not only in Tbilisi, but in various cities of Georgia, in every settlement, in the open air together with the local choirs," Mikheil Saakashvili noted. The President of Georgia went to David Gareji Fathers' Monastery from Sameba and there he attended the church service. Mikheil Saakashvili congratulated clergy and the congregation with the Bright Easter Holiday. After the church service the President spoke with the congregation about historical and religious heritage of Georgia. The congregation expressed their gratitude to the President for visiting David Gareji.

"Georgia is in the fight of David and Goliath - great evil fights with us, but Georgia is on the side of kindness. We must know one thing, however strong the evil looks, we must not get adapted and not make any compromises. Our fight is fair and as David defeated Goliath, Georgia will gain a victory. For this we need endurance and great patience. Easter Holiday teaches us this, because this Holiday is a victory of kindness over evil. If not so, the world would not exist today, especially our country", Mikheil Saakashvili noted.
