The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili made a statement on CNN on the tragic death of Lech Kaczynski.

Mikheil Saakashvili pointed out that Lech Kaczynski was the friend of Georgia, he was a politician to be followed and absolutely amazing personality.

"He remained a politician of principles and high spirit. When we were being bombed, despite of warnings, due to his personal brevity, he together with four other European Presidents came to Georgia and stood with us in our fight for freedom", Mikheil Saakashvili pointed out and added that Katyn tragedy meant a lot for Lech Kaczynski.

"I will try to take after him throughout my life. He was a great person. I want to express gratitude to the Polish people to have elected such a President, because Lech Kaczynski represented great Polish spirit", Mikheil Saakashvili stated.
