President Saakashvili meets with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Antanas Valionis

President Mikheil Saakashvili met with Lithuanian Foreign Minister, Antanas Valionis, today and said that the cooperation between Lithuania and Georgia has moved to another level.

President Saakashvli recollected his first visit to Lithuania and said that the cooperation between Georgia and Lithuania started during his meeting with the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus. "Then we forecasted the events in Ukraine [...] Later the President of Ukraine, Victor Yushchenko, and me claimed that a new type of cooperation was being formed among Georgia, Ukraine, the Baltic States and those countries, which strive for EU and NATO membership," President Saakashvili said adding that the Baltic States and specially Lithuania will help Georgia to become a member of EU and NATO.
