The President of Georgia left for the Republic of Azerbaijan. He arrived with the First Lady at the airport with no security and personally drove the car.

“It’s already been a week since I started travelling like this – as it became clear, that the Security Service has serious problems. Nobody can interfere with me travelling, meeting people and fulfilling my duties. I think it is absolutely unnecessary to dramatize and speculate the situation more. We are leaving for the Republic of Azerbaijan on an official visit now.  I would also like to touch on the statement I made about banks yesterday. First of all, I would like to mention that I had certain information regarding this issue, but fortunately after checking, this information was not confirmed. I am very sorry if I said something wrong. This is true and they don’t deny it but if I named the banks incorrectly then I did not do it on purpose, and I did not want to create any problems for the banks. It is my desire for the banking sector to be strong and independent in Georgia. I am observing our banks with great attention. So that they do not end up in hands of a country which does not have a healthy interest” – stated the President of Georgia.
