Mikheil Saakashvili showed the Prince of Monaco the sights of Mestia and Batumi

The Prince of Monaco visited Georgia today and right after his arrival left for Svaneti along with the President of Georgia. Mikheil Saakashvili showed Albert II the monuments of UNESCO cultural heritage in Mestia. The Prince was personally guided by the President of Georgia. After arriving at Mesita airport, Mikheil Saakashvili himself drove the descendant of the Monarch to the oldest neighborhood of Mestia - Lanchvali, where there is a monument that was built in the 12th century. The current construction work in Lanchvali will restore the original appearance of the neighborhood. They also visited a house that was built in the 4th century in the Lanchvali neighborhood, tasted traditional Svanetian dishes and listened to Svanetian songs performed by an ensemble of girls called -"Lagusheda".  The Head of State took the guest up to the Hatsvali Mountain where he could see the beautiful views of Mestia and Ushba. The Prince of Monaco - Albert II also visited the Lagami village and toured the ancient church there.

After Mestia, the President of Georgia and Albert II went to Batumi, where they attended the play "Keto and Kote" at the newly-opened Art Center. Mikheil Saakashvili later showed the Prince of Monaco the newly renovated Batumi.
