The President of Georgia lightened Chanukah candle

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili attended Jewish fest Chanukah at "Cortyard Marriott" hotel. The President of Georgia lightened Chanukah first candle fifth time in Georgia. Chanukah this year was dedicated to injured Georgian soldiers. Mikheil Saakashvili noted that Israel-Georgia Chamber of Business took 22 Georgian soldiers to Israel and sponsored their expensive treatment. Mikheil Dolidze, the Georgian soldier lightened Chanukah candle together with the President as well. Mikheil Saakashvili expressed his gratitude to Israel-Georgia Chamber of Business for taking care of Georgian soldiers personally.

"You are not the ones who establish relationship among the nations, you are our blood and flash, you represent part of Georgia! I will never forget my visit in Ashdot, when I and the whole delegation had the same feeling - that it was the most warm and hospitable Georgian city. We met our Georgian fellow citizens, who are at the same time dedicated patriots of Georgia. Georgia is the country, where Israel-Georgian relationships are developing extremely well, despite the fact - is it pleasing some people around us or not", stated Mikheil Saakashvili.

The President said that a lot of Georgians live in Israel and many Jewish people live in Georgia as well. Jewish people are honored and loved in Georgia. There is a Jewish minister Temur Iakobashvili in Georgian government.

The President of Israel-Georgia Chamber of Business Itsik Moshe, Israeli Ambassador in Georgia Iskhak Gerberg and Georgian soldiers greeted guest at the reception as well. The Minister of Defense of Georgia David Sikharulidze, the State Minister in Re-integration issues Temur Iakobashvili, the Mayor if Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava, Israel-Georgia Chamber of Business representatives and Georgian soldiers attended the event as well.
