The resident of Georgia lit the Chanukah Candle

The president of Georgia attended the reception dedicated to the traditional Jewish holiday Chanukah today. It is 7th time when Mikheil Saakashvili participates in candle lightning ceremony. By the decision of Jewish community the honor of candle lightning all around the world is granted to the Presidents of Georgia, United States and Israel only. The President of Georgia congratulated Jewish people with Chanukah holiday and spoke about traditional relations between the two nations.

"It is a very important tradition for me that lightens the way of my live, because this candle is a great holiday that lightens the way not only for Israeli people, but for the whole mankind. For us Georgian-Jewish culture represents the indivisible part of national Georgian common culture, which we are very proud of. We want not only brake off these relations, but to strengthen the more. I have told to big Georgian Diaspora in Israel that there house is there and their house is here, in Georgia", the President of Georgia noted.

The candidate of Georgian Ambassador in United States Temur Iakobashvili, representatives of Georgia-Israeli Chamber of Commerce and Jewish people residing in Georgia participated in the event as well.
