The President of Georgia laid a cornerstone at the construction of a new hotel complex within the scope of an emerging resort project
The President of Georgia laid a cornerstone at the construction of a new hotel complex “Piazza Alta” near Goderdzi Pass. A new resort will also be created here with two 7 story buildings and a full tourist infrastructure, including trade centers, open and enclosed cafés and bars, swimming pools, ropeways, and ski tracks…
“A new sign is appearing on the tourist map of Georgia. None of the epochs remember so many geographical centers. We should definitely call for a competition, which will determine the name of this resort. I will call this competition on my Facebook page and let’s think of a name which will be romantic and easy to remember. There will be winter as well as summer resorts here. The most pleasant thing is that we will already have these resorts next summer. We don’t have time to lose. That’s why we should do everything in a timely fashion. Very hard working people live here, but these areas need to develop. We initially started developing Gomarduli and later the Keda area. We have built two high quality schools where dozens of people have been employed. Now thousands of people will find jobs at the new resort, and mountainous Adjara will have a source of income. There is no mountain resort in the world with conditions so good and people with such low means. People say that we create everything for foreigners…its wrong. We need everything for these people. The local residents have no other prospect than this one. The best place was built in Akhaltsikhe and basically a tourist route was created. There is a museum being built in Vani and this means creating more routes for Adjara. This means that more businesses will open along this road, attracting more tourists and creating more jobs” – stated the President of Georgia.
The first stage of construction will end by 2013 here, and a 5 section hotel will open in 2014. Construction of 3 more hotels will begin in parallel. Construction of ropeways is already underway, which is administered by Austrian engineers. Ski tracks are also being created, the common length of which is 4 kilometers now, but it will reach 50 kilometers. This year the construction of cottages with a capacity to accommodate 50 persons is already finished. 300 local residents are employed at the first stage of the project.
