The President of Georgia hosted the German Federal Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development, Dirk Niebel
The President of Georgia met with the the German Federal Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development. Dirk Niebel. The sides spoke about prospects of deepening economic cooperation between the two countries and set future goals. Mikheil Saakashvili and Dirk Niebel discussed the ongoing and planned projects in Georgia.
“Your visit is very important to us. The Foreign Minister of Germany visited Georgia several weeks ago. Now you have visited us. This means that cooperation between our countries is deepening even more. I would like us to have a dependable partnership and close relations. We are planning and implementing very important projects together in order to widen the spectrum of cooperation” – noted the President of Georgia while talking with him.
Dirk Niebel drew attention to the successfully implemented economic projects in Georgia and noted that the country has an interesting investment environment for German businessmen. According to him, the German side is ready to implement joint projects in the energy sphere as well as in municipal infrastructural projects in Tbilisi and Batumi.
The German government will allocate 52 million euro as a low interest loan and 5.2 million euro as a grant for Georgia. The government agreement regarding this issue has already been signed.
