Rehabilitation works of the Rustavi Park of Culture and Rest have begun
The President of Georgia visited Rustavi today and met with the population gathered at the Rustavi Park of Culture and Rest. Mikheil Saakashvili congratulated the local people on the beginning of rehabilitation works and talked to them about Rustavi development plans. As the Head of State noted, many things have changed in Rustavi and many more projects are being implemented, but one of them is the renovation of this park. According to the President, Rustavi will be one of the most developed cities within two years. Mikheil Saakashvili also met with the woman, who asked him to rehabilitate the park several months ago. He thanked Natela Skhirtladze for this initiative and noted that the revived park will be a symbol of rehabilitated Rustavi.
The Rustavi Park of Culture and Rest is spread across 30 hectares. The project envisions accommodating the park territory, restoring infrastructure, cleaning the lake, and building fountains. An open air movie theater will also be reconstructed in the park, granite-steel and wooden chairs will be installed as well as picnic equipment; the bridge located in the park will also be renovated and irrigation and drainage systems replaced.
Rehabilitation of the Rustavi Park of Culture and Rest is being implemented by co-financing of the Presidential fund. The accommodation works of the park are being administered by a Spanish company “International Project Company” which was chosen through a competition. The Rustavi Park renovation cost will be 3 million GEL.
