The President of Georgia opened a new Public Service Hall in Marneuli today. Marneulians as well as residents of 8 other regions will have a chance to get various types of services in one space. Mikheil Saakashvili toured the newly opened facility, spoke to the employed personnel, and noted that this is just a beginning. There are currently 67 persons employed at the Marneuli Public Service Hall and 260 persons worked on its construction.

The Head of State also toured a newly opened ultramodern TBC Bank branch, which will offer its clients quality services beginning today. 25 persons are employed at the branch, most of whom are local residents. As Mikheil Saakashvili noted, it is very important to have a variety of banks represented in Marneuli because this region is most distinguished by its economic activeness.

“Very hard working people live here, and agriculture and trade are the most developed. This is why it’s one of the most important regions in terms of the economy. Opening such facilities in this region is a symbol of strengthening our statehood and accelerating integration of its residents” – stated the President.

Later today Mikheil Saakashvili opened a cultural entertainment center, “Tea House”, in the center of Marneuli, where circles of Georgian language, computer technology, traditional sewing, and art are present. The President also spoke to the young members of these circles.

“8 years ago when I came here to campaign I had to speak in Russian. Many people no longer understood Russian during my second campaign – this was in 2008, and used an interpreter. And now I basically address people in Georgian and almost all of them understand it. These people are our strength and the more there are, the more integrated we are, the more we realize that Georgia is a home for each one of us, the more we will be able to fight for Georgia. I am proud that we have already achieved this in the recent years” – stated the President of Georgia.

70 local residents were working on the construction of the cultural entertainment center and 70 people will be employed when it’s fully loaded.

Later the Head of State unveiled statues of Shota Rustaveli and Nizam Ganjev around the territory of the “Tea House.” Mikheil Saakashvili decorated the President of the Azeri oil company “Socar” with the Presidential Order of Excellence.
