The President of Georgia held a meeting with the Vice President of the German Bundestag
The President of Georgia hosted a delegation of German lawmakers headed by the Vice President of the Bundestag, Wolfgang Thierse. German lawmakers assessed the process of the Parliamentary elections held in Georgia and noted that the Georgian government once again proved the democratic course of its leadership. According to Wolfgang Thierse, elections held on October 1st were distinguished by a high quality of democracy.
During the discussion the sides focused attention on the partner relations between Georgia and Germany and spoke about the necessity of continuing cooperation. Additionally, they discussed international and regional issues.
In the end, representatives of the German delegation once again expressed firm support of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The delegation of German lawmakers will stay in Georgia until October 7th.
