Mikheil Saakashvili had a phone conversation with the Georgian sailor freed from captivity of Somalian pirates, Captain Memed Zakaradze. The President of Georgia congratulated the Captain on being freed from captivity and noted that he is looking forward to the return of the Georgian sailors to their homeland.

In his turn, Memed Zaqaradze also thanked the President for his personal effort in the process of rescuing the sailors. According to him, the sailors are feeling well and each one of them considers the fact that they were saved from captivity, as being born again.

Somalian pirates kidnapped the ship in October, 2010 and Georgian sailors were in captivity for 508 days. The President of Georgia was personally involved in the process of rescuing them.
