The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili attended the presentation of the training course for the heavy technical constructional equipment operators and welders. The President also familiarized himself with the other educational programs going on.    

The establishment of the new course was conditioned by the recommendation of the President for establishing stricter safety measures for the operation of the heavy technical constructional equipment. In this regard, the educational facility will prepare professionals, who comply with the international standards and provides their employment.      

"We spend the same amount on infrastructural projects this year that we did the last year. During the next 2-3 years modernization of the fast railway in Batumi direction is going on, we also construct railway to Europe - this is Tbilisi-Karsi-Akhalkalaki railway, another several million mega-project. It is necessary to modernize the railway to Yerevan and Baku. Also, I think that for tourist infrastructure, that very works that you prepare yourself for, about a billion of USD should be spent. In addition we have to take into consideration that the more is done, the more difficult is to take care of infrastructure. Now we construct road in Svaneti, Gombori road is done already and a big group of specialists is always needed for functioning of these roads. People of Northern Caucasus started to enter from Larsi road. In the spring-summer period, there will be a flow of tourists. This road will always need cleaning, slopes - stabilization. Earlier, this section could be blocked up for the whole year. This is what concerns roads. There are ongoing constructions etc. Our specialists must be qualified in the way that we do not need to bring specialists from abroad. Our specialists shall go to Caucasus countries, Central Asia and other places. The next year Namakhvani and Khudoni HPPs' construction must start and as many Georgian specialists must work there as they were at the Enguri HPP construction in 70-ies. On these HPPs, by my count, about several thousand of people of different professions will be employed. I say nothing about the fact that we shall constantly need qualified specialists in the field of energy production. Only for HPPs we will need so many personnel that there may be still not enough, even if there is ten times more population. During the times of the Soviet Union we went to the countries of the Third World to construct HPPs and now we have to learn everything from the very beginning in order to construct by ourselves in our country", the President of Georgia stated.       

Mikheil Saakashvili positively evaluated the fact that the retraining center was opened in the "Afrika" region, as the most of unemployed people are in Varketili, Vazisubami and "Afrika" regions.

Besides this the President evaluated the data published by the World Bank today, according to which Georgia is the first country in regards of simplicity of doing business. The President stated that this rating will help Georgia in attracting investments, which in its turn will be reflected on the lives of the country's population.

"The World Bank had summed up the results of the situation of improving the simplicity of doing business in the countries. Before the Rose Revolution people had to stand in long lines, bribe someone, divide their shares with others, then they had permanent control of someone and so on; it is remarkable that the Rose Revolution happened seven years ago. The World Bank had summed up the results achieved in the last five years. This organization started their research when we carried out our first painful reforms and changes, they considered that almost from 180 countries of the world no one had a better improvement of the situation that our country had. If you ask me what is the main result of the Rose Revolution, what we received in the result of standing in the wind and rain seven years ago, that they didn't surrender to the injustice and they raised their voice to be heard throughout the world, my answer to that will be the following - we are number one reformer country. Finally this will be reflected on the lives of our population, the working people and their families, but this is not sufficient. Good rating is sufficient for attracting much money, but when they come here they have to meet here good carpenters, joiners and welders. We have improved our ratings by means of state apparatus' hard work - the rest must be done by the people", Mikheil Saakashvili noted.  

"Spectri" will prepare qualified specialists - the builders of wide profile, road constructors, joiners, carpenters; the specialists of sanitary-technical service; land surveyors, topographic surveyors, electricity and power wiring electric-fitters; the specialists of refrigerators and conditioners, auto-mechanics, metal craftsmen, technical operators of IT, accountants, secretary-referents, repairmen of the cell-phones, the mechanics of PC etc. At the same time USAID Project of Vocational Education and a Norwegian project - Education for democracy are being carried out.         

The auditoriums and classes of the new course are equipped with the newest simulators of CATERPILLAR(CAT) and the modern welding equipment and tools of LINCOLN ELECTRIC. The unique technical assets that have no analogs in Georgia were purchased within the Project of vocational education of the USAID.
