Nino Burjanadze meets former parliament speaker of Turkey
"I would like to emphasize your role in enhancing relations and furthering cooperation between the parliaments of Turkey and Georgia," said Nino Burjanadze during her meeting with Blent Arın, former parliament speaker of the Republic of Turkey.
During the meeting the parties discussed trade, economic, cultural and social cooperation issues between the two countries, as well as the importance of and the prospects of increasing Turkish investments in Georgia.
"While being a member of the Georgian-Turkish business council, I got acquainted with those projects that are being implemented in Georgia. I've also heard members of the council say how stable and attractive the investment climate was in Georgia, which is key to attracting more investments. More investments facilitate the creation of additional job opportunities," said former parliament speaker, stressing that Turkey was supporting Georgia's integration into the Euro Atlantic structures, its territorial integrity and irreversibility of democratic processes within the country.
At the meeting Nino Buirjanadze and Blent Arın also discussed the pre-election process as well as the importance of the 30th General Assembly of PABSEC that Georgia was hosting.
"I would like to thank you for your contribution to the functioning of the organization during your presidency of PABSEC," said Blent Arın at the meeting.
