The President of Georgia celebrated the New Year with soldiers stationed at the Shukvani Base in Afghanistan. The Head of State focused attention on the importance of participating in the ISAF Mission and emphasized the integrity, devotion, and professionalism which our State stands on. According to him, this was shown during the 2008 August war.

Mikheil Saakashvili also congratulated the soldiers on their duty around the Shukvani Base through radio.

The Commander in Chief congratulated the soldiers twice on the New Year: by Georgian and Afghan time zones.
