Today road reconstruction works has been launched at Chavchavadze Avenue by a Turkish company that will resurface the entire road.

Tbilisi City Hall is planning to install new drain line system and fix the pavements.

President Mikheil Saakashvili attended launching the repair works at Chavchavadze Avenue. "By September the roads at Chavchavadze and Vazha Pshavela Avenues, one of the riversides road, Vazisubani, Varketili, Gldani and Sanzona district roads will be repaired. Such wide scale repair works has never taken place neither in Georgia nor in our neighboring countries. Roads and energy sector are the key elements of modernization," the President said adding that soon Tbilisi would become a European city. According to the President the similar works have started in some regions and will continue countrywide.
