President Saakashvili grants dual citizenship to Vicor Sanaev

President Mikheil Saakashvili on October 23 hosted an outstanding sportsman Victor Sanaev, a professor, painter and sculptor, Emir Burjanadze and a head of one of the offices at the Saarbrucken city Mayor's Office, Gerhard Laufs, at the State Chancellery and congratulated them on becoming honored residents of Tbilisi. 
President Saakashvili stated that in the last few years Tbilisi has become very beautiful. "Many Europeans, including Alexandre Dumas, called Tbilisi a "Paris of the East". We will really make Tbilisi one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. [...] We must use our own human recourses, our best architects and we also invite architects from Denmark, Germany, Italy so that to make the beauty and marvel of our city more and more enticing," President Saakashvli said. 

Mikheil Saakashvili also underscored that it would take several years to meet the standard of living in Tbilisi with the one in Europe.President Saakashvili also emphasized infrastructure improvement in the city adding that lots of things have been done in Tbilisi in this respect. 

"We want to repair all the schools in Tbilisi, lighten the whole city and do the utmost not to allow it be destroyed and be in blackout any more," the President said and instructed the appropriate offices to build 100 new playgrounds with artificial covers for children. 

At the meeting President Saakashvili talked about the merit of Mr. Sanaev and granted him the dual citizenship. "Georgia was completely disintegrated and devastated when Mr. Sanaev left it. Now Victor Sanaev returning to this country means recognizing a new Georgia. I am very proud of it," President Saakashvili said.
