President Saakashvili visiting USA

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will travel to New York on 24 September to take part in the 62nd session of the United Nations' General Assembly.

On 25 September Saakashvili will hold meetings with Javier Solana, the high representative for the European Union's Common Foreign and Security Policy and the secretary-general of the Council of the European Union, Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus and President of the Republic of Turkmenistan Mr Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow.

On 26 September the Georgian president will meet UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

Also on that day Saakashvili and Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves will meet students and professors at New York's Columbia University.

During the visit, Saakashvili will deliver an address before the UN General Assembly in which he will discuss the settlement of the separatist conflicts and devote special attention to the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict.

The president will also meet Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
