The President of Georgia visited Tchiatura
The President of Georgia visited Tchiatura with the First Lady Sandra Elizabeth Roelofs, and met with population of the Sveri Village. Mikheil Saakashvili informed them about the recently implemented infrastructural and social projects and spoke to them about the future plans. As the President noted, the road to Tchiatura will be fixed in the nearest future and the village will have a renovated school in September. The President promised the local population to fix the water system within the scope of the program “Water for Every Village.” According to Mikheil Saakashvili’s statement, the country is advancing in every direction, and it is the goal of the government to make this progress reach every family.
“Georgia is developing very rapidly. Of course this should reach every family. I often visit villages and I know that nothing has changed for many people, but our country is advancing in general in every direction, and it is now our goal to make this progress reach each alley of the villages, each school, each family, each small town and district. We must keep advancing. It is as if we were travelling on a narrow mountain path which has an abyss on both sides. The road from Tchiatura to Tskhukveti is almost like that. Tilting back or leaning to the left or right means falling into an abyss. I do not want such a prospect for our country because people cannot return from the abyss. It is our goal to travel to the end of a road of any difficulty, go through a turn of any angle in order to reach the place where each Georgian family will have a decent life. Each Tchiaturian probably remembers what kind of a situation, crime and corruption, was present here. If anyone thinks this disappears by itself they are very mistaken. We have achieved everything though day to day work, and by making enemies; all of this is the result of the fact that we ended up being too stubborn and didn’t give up to anyone” – stated the President of Georgia.
