President Saakashvili to meet winners of the National Academic Olympiad
President Saakashvili today will meet winners of the National Olympiad held by the Ministry of Education and Science.
The Students' Olympiad programme has been held successfully for the past two years. The president has on numerous occasions noted the contribution of participating students towards strengthening the country's national values.
At the meeting Saakashvili will announce plans to expand the Olympiad programme and give more students from Georgia's regions the opportunity to participate.
On the decision of the president funding for the Olympiad programme will increase from 250,000 lari to 1m lari.
President Saakashvili will also speak about a programme to send students abroad for study. He said young people would travel abroad not only to study public administration, but also to master other specialties such as agriculture, architecture and journalism.
