Mikheil Saakashvili visited Ozurgeti
Today, the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited the residents of Ozurgeti. The deputy candidate of Ozurgeti Anzor Erkomaishvili attended the meeting as well.
The President promised the industrial workers that the new hazelnut-processing factory would be opened soon. He said that the processing of hazelnuts locally would assist the development of this sort. Because of the non-existence of processing enterprises in the region it is necessary to transport nuts to Samegrelo region and it is related with big expenses. The President said that request on Georgian hazelnuts is huge, because it is much better than Turkish hazelnuts.
The President of Georgia spoke on the perspectives of the economic development of the country and stated that one of the biggest objectives of Georgia is to attract investments. He said that the quality of Georgian tea has got much better and tea will be as competitive as citruses and hazelnuts are.
As the President mentioned negotiations on the export of tea from Georgia are ongoing with the countries of Middle Asia. Mikheil Saakashvili noted that intensive production would save agricultural products of Georgia.
"Prices are going up all around the world and Georgia has to use this chance to sell its products on the world market". The President focused on the attraction of investments and stated that the Government will not allow anyone to start destabilizations in the country.
"Many people try to gain votes before elections, but if they try to arrange disorders, strikes and blockage of the roads, we will not allow them to do it", stated the President of Georgia.
