President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited Zugdidi
President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili visited Zugdidi today and spoke with the representatives of local population about the development of Samegrelo infrastructure, about the construction of schools and hospitals, about the modernization of social assistance programs, about the support of small businesses and development of agriculture during the meeting.
"I want to hold series of this kind of meetings where I will not be speaking but will listen to the locals' opinions on broad range of issues from internal and foreign politics to education and economy. To say that people here in Samegrelo lack fortitude is ridiculous and immoral. People went through so much and the population here was tripled. Our people were kicked out from their own houses and this blossomed city, with the best hotel, best stadium, best roads was damaged and destroyed. But it still stands firm. No one can teach this people courage and braveness. There are no such intelligent, wise, courageous and patriot people, not only in Caucasus but in the world like here in Samegrelo and I am not exaggerating. No matter what your political motives and goals one may be driven with are, you cannot become angry on your fellow citizens only because you yourself are not successful. First of all people should find reasons of the luck of their success and afterwards work more", stated Mikheil Saakashvili.
President of Georgia spoke about existing problems and the ways of solving them as well.
