Mikheil Saakashvili addressed the population of Samtredia

 

The President of Georgia visited Samtredia and met with the local residents. Mikheil Saakashvili addressed them and promised to fix the existing problems. Namely, the President promised the local people a common insurance package, gasification, 1000 GEL vouchers, paved roads, and to increase the number of agricultural technology units. He later spoke about the implemented projects and informed them about future plans. The President noted that Samtredia must regain all of the functions it previously had, including the role of a railway and aviation center. By the order of the President, the railway division of Samtredia will be restored in several days.

According to Mikheil Saakashvili, the Jikhaisi Technical School will be turned into a modern retraining center, which is a new source of employment for the local residents.

The President touched on the process of rehabilitation that is going on in the entire country, and noted that gradually the development will reach every family and they will have better living conditions. The Head of State also noted that one of the priorities of the state is giving a modern education to the youth. Mikheil Saakashvili noted that, they are the ones who represent the future of Georgia, and he named the fact that new younger faces are appearing in politics instead of the older ones as the main achievement.

While talking about the upcoming Parliamentary elections, the President stated that October 1st  will be not only a decisive day for Georgia because the fate of any political force or  subject will become evident, but the fate of the future of our country will be dedided.

Mikheil Saakashvili later introduced the candidate for Deputy to the Parliament to the Samtredians. He named Merab Janelidze as a candidate, who is a renowned doctor not only in Georgia but worldwide. According to the President, he has saved a lot of lives, Samtredians know him well and he truly deserves the public’s support. The Head of State wished Merab Janelidze, who was attending the speech, success.
