The President of Georgia opened new hospitals in Kaspi and Khashuri
The President of Georgia opened a new hospital within the scope of the hospital development project in Kaspi today. Mikheil Saakashvili inspected the work of the ultramodern technologies at the new hospital and also visited the first patients. The Head of State once again listened to the information regarding the process and the details of the hospital sector development program from the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Affairs. Andria Urushadze specifically laid out to him the details of the plan, according to which more hospitals will be opened before the end of the year. In his turn, Mikheil Saakashvili focused attention on the necessity of high tech clinics in the regions of Georgia and their affordability. As he noted, the progress that has been initiated in the healthcare sphere is the best example of the cooperation of private and public sectors. Mikheil Saakashvili also touched on the issues of developing the medical insurance system and retraining medical personnel. The President expressed interest in the qualification level of the medical personnel and received complete information about it from the managers of the clinic.
“The main thing that these hospitals bring is equality – equality among people. Every citizen should have equal access to such high quality healthcare. The equality among regions is also important. There should no longer be second tier regions. Kaspi and Tbilisi were very different from each other in the past. Nowadays however, the regions of Georgia have more personalized and well-maintained healthcare” –stated Mikheil Saakashvili.
The President of Georgia also spoke with the locals expressing interest in their social conditions and noted that the government will do everything in its power to provide equally affordable healthcare for everyone.
The Kaspi regional hospital has been built by the insurance company “Alpha” within the scope of the hospital sector development project. The 25 bed hospital is equipped with ultramodern technology and can provide medical care for 100 patients. Laboratory, therapeutic, surgery, maternity, and infection departments are functioning at the new clinic.
Mikheil Saakashvili also opened the Khashuri regional hospital today. The Head of State toured the hospital built by the insurance company “IC Group” and talked with the personnel about the importance of the hospital development program. The President of Georgia also had a video conference with a doctor of the neurological department at the George Washington clinic – Zurab Nadareishvili.
“I haven’t seen the new George Washington clinic, but I have been to the old one and I would like to tell you that the new Khashuri hospital is as good if not better than the clinic I saw there 15 years ago. Our clinic has equivalent technology and it is also very comfortable. The systems installed at our clinic are definitely better. Right now we need the same qualification as that of the personnel working at GW“– noted the President while talking to Zurab Nadareishvili.
According to him, a new technology will be adopted at the Khashuri clinic, eliminating the possibility of misdiagnosis. The Khashurian doctors will have a chance to constantly consult the neurological surgeon working in America.
Mikheil Saakashvili met with the Khashuri local population. The President also spoke with teenagers about the rehabilitation program of schools.
The new ultramodern hospital has 31 beds and highly qualified medical personnel. 175 persons have been employed at the clinic.
