The Spokesperson for the President of Georgia started her traditional briefing with the evaluation of last week's significant events, in particular with the parade dedicated to Police Day and important visits. She stressed her attention on the visits of the President of Lithuania and Foreign Minister of Latvia to Georgia. As she said these were business and partnership related meetings between the leaders and representatives of friendly countries. The talks also concerned bilateral cooperation and future plans.

Manana Manjgaladze discussed upcoming visits and noted that the Foreign Minister of Czechs Republic will visit Georgia in the nearest future. Besides a meeting with Grigol Vashadze he will hold a meeting with the President of Georgia as well. Sides will discuss those strategic and partnership relations that had been established between Georgia and Czechs Republic.

The Spokesperson noted that country transfers on an active phase of tourism season and starts preparation for a new, summer season. 

"The corresponding agencies received specific tasks from the President of Georgia in this regards and are already actively working on the fulfillment. We are expecting quite a big number of tourists flow to country this year. According to statistics 674 409 foreign travelers arrived in Georgia during 4 months in 2011 - it is 43% more compare to the data of last year - same period of time. The number of tourists increased by 202 603. We are awaiting for guests in Adjara - renovated Batumi; Anaklia, where the level of comfort is rather high; Samtskhe-Javakheti - Borjomi and Bakuriani; Svaneti; Tusheti; in different regions of Kakheti and Racha. It could be said that we are ready to host any type of tourist in all regions around the country. Our relief gives us a chance to host our guests in a dignified manner in mountainous regions and sure on the seaside",  Manana Manjgaladze noted and added that the success in this segment gives a country an opportunity of employment and investments.

The Spokesperson also noted that significant part and time of the activities of the President will be dedicated to the education system and ongoing reforms in this sphere. As she said this week will be pretty active in this direction. 

"The President of Georgia opened Informational Center of Vocational Colleges in Kutaisi yesterday. This center will provide help to the local population in selection of their occupation and in their further employment. 25 occupations are taught at college in total. Mikheil Saakashvili received information regarding every theoretical or practical study within the college. Mikheil Saakashvili visited State Administered School named after Zurab Jhvania where 80 Azerbaijanis are studying Georgian language. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke to the representatives of ethnic minorities there. The issue of state language fundamental knowledge is of high importance for the state. This is the initiative of the President. Several interesting events in educational sphere are planned during this week. In particular the President will meet those teachers, who are the first runners in the new wave if this reform. Those who passed certifying exams in vocational skills and profiled subjects would receive 75 GEL addition, those who expressed the knowledge of English language and computer will have 125 GEL addition. 25 percent of teachers, who received highest evaluations in certification exams will receive 1 000 GEL salaries from next year. It means that taking care of teachers, their support and creation of competitive atmosphere is high priority for the state.  

As the Spokesperson noted the first results are already visible - 24 thousand teachers registered already on the certifying exams of 2011.  

One more issue that Manana Manjgaladze stressed her attention on were events related to the Independence Day. As she noted the preparations have already started, however the representatives of media will receive the corresponding information regarding this in the nearest future.
