The President of Georgia gave a speech at the Carnegie Center

The President of Georgia gave a speech at the Carnegie Center within the scope of his working visit to Brussels. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke about the progress reached by the country after the Rose Revolution. According to the Head of State, Georgia rose to the 9th place in terms of doing business report of the World Bank. He later mentioned that after the Rose Revolution, Georgia became one of the least corrupt and criminalized countries in the world. The President noted that Georgia must continue developing and never return to the past. Mikheil Saakashvili also touched on the post election time period and mentioned that a new political system has been formed in Georgia which must be understood by everyone. According to him, democratic elections held in the country are exemplary for the entire region. The Head of State focused attention on Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the country and noted that aspiring towards Europe is a natural need of Georgian people. He stated that Georgia will definitely achieve free trade and further visa regime liberalization with the EU. In the end, the President answered the questions of experts gathered in the hall. The attending audience was interested in the coincidence of the President and Prime Minister being in town at the same time.
