The President of Georgia visited the lady harassed during an incident in Tsaishi

The President of Georgia visited the lady victimized by an incident in Tsaishi yesterday. Mikheil Saakashvili had meetings scheduled with the population of Zugdidi and Khobi Regions. Several young people forced the socially unprotected Roza Tskabelia, who wanted to talk with the President about her personal problems, from the President’s arrival location prior to his arrival yesterday. The Head of State decided to meet with her after learning about this fact. Mikheil Saakashvili promised Roza Tskabelia to deal with the problems of which she was demanding to meet with him.

“I heard about your situation and decided to meet with you. I have always protected and will always protect the people of low means in Georgia. Whoever stands between me and the persons wanting to tell me about their problems will definitely pay for it. Your village mates, who have harassed you, have already paid for it. This will be a lesson for everyone. If a person wants to go and talk to the President she has elected about personal problems, then who has the right to stand in between? I am very angry at them! Such an action will never stay without consequences. You should know from now on that next year your family will have a 1000 GEL voucher for bills, medications and etc. So you won’t have a problem with medications. As of your grandchild we will definitely help you. Madam Roza, yesterday you were harassed but I was also harassed. Nobody should ever dare to stand between me and a person of low means. My government and I are both protectors of poor people and the most important thing for us, is to take care of families like yours.  We will help you more than we were helping in the past, and we will not leave you in poverty” – stated the President of Georgia while talking to her.

Mikheil Saakashvili also spoke to Roza Tskabelia about the programs that the government is implementing for the socially unprotected persons. The Head of State also touched on the education issue and offered her grandchild to study information technologies at the Poti Technical School.

The persons who have physically harassed Roza Tskabelia have already been detained by law enforcement officials.
