Traditional Briefing of the Press Speaker of the President of Georgia
Manana Manjgaladze talked about the main events of the week today and drew special attention to the studies administered by the World Bank, International Finance Corporation and the Center of Law and Democracy. As the Press Speaker noted, according to the study called “Doing Business 2012,” Georgia is in first place among 183 countries in terms of the reforms implemented in the sphere of registering real estate.
“This success is related to the alteration of the law base and adopting new technologies, which has shortened time and relevant procedures needed to register real estate in Georgia. This is a fairly large relief for businessmen, producers, and investors.” – stated Manana Manjgaladze.
Regarding the results of the study administered by the Center of Law and Democracy, according to the President’s Press Speaker, the study took place in 80 countries and Georgia ended up being ranked the second among them. Manana Manjgaladze noted that the State Apparatus of Georgia is one of the most flexible, effective and transparent, which had a great influence on the results of the study. Georgia assumed second place after New Zealand and surpassed the most developed countries, a result of the reforms implemented in the relevant sphere.
Additionally, the President’s Press Speaker talked about international relations and stated that the visit to Georgia of the Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine – Sergei Tygipko is planned at the end of October.
“Deepening trade and economic relations with Ukraine is very important for our country and the sharing of successful reforms implemented in Georgia is important for our Ukrainian colleagues” – added the Press Speaker.
In the end, Manana Manjgaladze once again emphasized support for the government of Turkey on behalf of the President and stated that Mikheil Saakashvili expressed his deep sorrow regarding the recent tragedy in a Turkish Province: “The President of Georgia expresses his sympathies to the government of Turkey on behalf of the Georgian people. The Georgian government is ready to assist the Turkish people and back them in this time of trouble” – stated the President’s Press Speaker during her traditional briefing.
