The President of Georgia attended the opening of Rusudan Petviashvili's gallery and art café in Batumi today that opened by the exhibition of Rusudan Petviashvili and his Brother sculptor Dimitry Petviashvili today. The famous artist explained that this exhibition space would host other authors in future as well. As she noted not only the artists, but future writers and musicians will be able to express themselves in this gallery on every weekend. Mikheil Saakashvili said that it is necessary to hold such events in Batumi for the revival of cultural life.

"Opening of a gallery named after Rusudan Petviashvili is a cultural event. It is a model of how future Batumi and future Georgia should be. This district is full of live now indeed, but we have serious problems as well - we opened Radisson Blue yesterday and we have problems in this direction as well. Many grand hotels will open here next year and we will have lack of such places, because so much is being done in Batumi. So, if the families will invest money in the construction of even small hotels they will get it back in several years. This business will become so much profitable for them. This is why many people should think about the opening of such cafes and hotels. You know that we are doing everything in old Batumi. Recently I had visited one place, where we constructed the roads, changed communications, renovated houses fundamentally - starting from the very fundament finishing with exteriors. So to say the prices on houses now are 7-10 times more expensive now compare to what it was two or three years ago. Many people opened new small cafes in front of their houses. A lady of 40-45 years approached me and said: it is good that so many things had been done. Thank you for the reconstruction of everything, we love you very much. But if you would take care of poor people like we are - we will be ore grateful than. I think time has come to overcome this psychology. Everything is done here in order for families to live in better conditions, but they have to show some initiative as well. It is very important. When Rusudan Petviashvili expresses initiative that is world scale painter and our pride - everyone must take examples from her as well. This gallery will become a center of art. We will have season for 5-6 years at least. Now the major thing is people to come here and bring live with their activeness", Mikheil Saakashvili said.

Mikheil Saakashvili spoke about the art of Rusudan Petviashvili: "Russiko's works bring me on the best mood. You know that we have her works in President's Palace as well and we even present them to world leaders from the foreign countries. Maybe some believe that art should be tragicall, but I do not think so. In all these works there is fight between the evil and kindness and kindness always defeats evil.
