The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili met the Georgian experts
The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili met the Georgian experts within the frames of anti crisis council. The subjects of discussions were Russia-Georgian war and world financial crisis. Before the meeting started Mikheil Saakashvili stated that the views of experts are extremely important to solve all problems facing Georgia at this very moment. He has also noted that this meetings should be held in a format of dialogue and that he is ready to listen to the most critical remarks made by the experts. One of the major issue they discussed was Russia-Georgian relationship. They also spoke about the ways to avoid economic crisis in Georgia.
President Saakashvili has proposed setting up of a broad coordination council with the involvement of a group of experts with a major goal to help the authorities to overcome economic crisis.
"Recently we have been working intensively to evade devastating consequences of the global economic crisis. We want to know what your opinion on this matter is. It is of special importance to listen to those people, which are regularly working on this issue and are discussing these issues on the television and in the press.
We should also listen to them with whom we may disagree or whose ideas may be unacceptable for me; this makes this type of meetings even more interesting. Despite different and opposing political opinions we all are citizens of this country and we all have one goal - strong Georgia, united, independent Georgia and also to rescue our country, including from this heavy economic crisis", stated the President of Georgia.
Mikheil Saakashvili said that this type of meetings should be held regularly. He noted that big board will be developed in the nearest future, and local and Georgian experts working abroad will be involved in working process as well.
