President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili congratulated the children in Batumi on the International Children's Day. Mikheil Saakashvili visited the kindergarten # 3, which was built in 1954 but renovated only this year. President Saakashvili talked to the children and helped them in arranging a constructor. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke to the population as well and got interested in their problems as well.
President of Georgia visited a shelter house for the old people and hearing-impaired children. President got interested in living conditions of the old. The First Lady Sandra Ruloves also talked to these children and old people. St Ekaterina's shelter belongs to Batumi and Laseti Eparchy. The Bishop of Batumi and Lazeti eparchy, Dimitry, expressed his gratitude to the government for their support.
"A shelter for the old and hearing-impaired children was opened in Batumi and it is not only the best in Georgia but in Europe as well. The government of Ajaria together with Patriarchy of Georgia realized this project. Bishop Dimitry does so much for Georgian people", stated Mikheil Saakashvili.
Mikheil Saakashvili paid special attention to cheap insurance program and noted: "A lady passed me a letter concerning insurance issue. The Lady writes that on May 9 a member of her family was hit by car. She is in the reanimation department now and has no money to pay for care. Cheap insurance program is done to help people in such cases not to spend their money. Before some misfortune happens nobody thinks about it. Of course we will help them but the government cannot help every family. Those who do not have an insurance package must get it not to find them in such situation. Cheap insurance means that people will be defended. Everyone must think about it before some problems appear.
