First Lady's Visit to Anaklia
On July 1, 2011 the First Lady of Georgia Mrs. Sandra Elisabeth Roelofs met with the Youth Summer Camp participants - "Patriots" and spoke to them about the importance of healthy nutrition, sport, road safety, environment protection, non - smoking. The meeting had an interactive format that got the audience involved.
In addition, promotional materials were disseminated and video clips were presented to better show the effects of alcohol on driving performance and on the brain.
Mrs. Sandra Elisabeth Roelofs asked the "Patriots" questions about the allowed blood alcohol level and about the number of toxic substances in a cigarette. The winner contestants - Karlo Mikanadze and Tamar Mamatsashvili got the tickets from the First Lady of Georgia to the concert of Sting and Chris Botti in Batumi.
On this very same event representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), with the help of the partner organizations - Caucasus Social Marketing Association (CSMA) and Georgian Youth Development and Education Association (GYDEA), conducted a seminar for the Summer Camp participants on the HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and drug addiction. Two - hour curriculum that contained educational lectures, discussions and role games was especially prepared for Summer Camp participants.
At the end of the meeting, band "Wetmoon" performed the song about the healthy lifestyle - "Don't Worry, Be Healthy!" for the youth of the Summer Camp. This song was created several months ago in the framework of the First Lady's Healthy Life Style Initiative.
The event was conducted with the support of Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia.
