On October 1-2, 2008, the First Lady of Georgia, Sandra E. Roelofs visited IDPs from Tskhinvali, Kareli and Gori at the sites of temporary placement located in Tbilisi and gave them a blood pressure measuring device, glucometer with test strips, medications, several refrigerators and washing machines, toys for children and medications. At the initiative of Mrs. Roelofs, the IDPs were provided with free consultations by an oculist as well as hygiene products and baby food with assistance from UNFPA.
