The President of Georgia has expressed his deep regrets regarding the death of a Georgian soldier in Afganistan, Junior Sergeant Rezo Beridze. Junior Sergeant Beridze passed away as a result of a wound he received during the Taliban attack while patroling in the Helmand province.

Mikheil Saakashvili extends his condolences to the family of the deceased soldier, his comrades in arms and the Georgian people.

Junior sergeant Beridze of the third Infantry Brigade was serving in NATO-led ISAF mission in the province of Helmand.
