The President of Georgia met with the French Transport Minister

The President of Georgia met with French Transport Minister, Thierry Mariana.  The sides discussed the prospects of cooperation in automobile, maritime and civil aviation spheres between the two countries. The French Transport Minister drew attention to the friendly relations between Georgia and France and expressed hope that these relations will remain successful in the future. While speaking with the President, Thierry Mariana reaffirmed that France supports the independence and territorial integrity of Georgia.

The French Transport Minister also stated that he is in the process of ascertaining the preparatory details of the visit of the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy to Georgia.

Along with other officials, the French Ambassador also attended the meeting between Thierry Mariana and Mikheil Saakashvili. The meeting took place in Kvareli, in an informal setting.
