The President of Georgia travelled from Ozurgeti to Kutaisi today, where he inspected the reconstruction work of the Bagrati Church dome. Mikheil Saakashvili spoke with Bishop Kalistrate as well as the persons employed at the construction site. While talking with them the President noted that it is an obligation of this generation to restore the Bagrati Church but first of all, it is an obligation of the government.

UNESCO experts worked on the conception of restoring the Bagrati Church. The first stage of the ongoing renovation will end in August and the fully rehabilitated church will be opened in fall.
