The Press Speaker of the President of Georgia made a statement today. She spoke about the initiative of the President based on which the pension of military servants is going to be doubled, and families of soldiers and policemen killed on duty will receive permanent pension.

“As you know, the President of Georgia celebrated the New Year, 2013 with Georgian soldiers in Afghanistan, where he introduced an initiative regarding doubling the pension of military servants, and policemen being doubled and their families receiving permanent pension.

We heard the position of the Ministry of Defense regarding this issue today. It must be stated that it is good that the relevant government body approved this initiative introduced by the President of Georgia.

I would like to add that the Administration of the President of Georgia has drafted the legislation and in the following days the President will use his privilege and send it to the Government as well as the Parliament of Georgia.

Additionally, we express full readiness to hold consultations with the Executive Government regarding this issue” – stated Manana Manjgaladze.
